Crowding of teeth

In this case, the teeth do not have enough space in the dental row and they partially overlap each other. This creates not only an aesthetic defect, but also affects the health of the teeth. Difficulty in hygiene leads to an increased risk of caries. Incorrect dental contacts can lead to accelerated tooth wear and the development of TMJ dysfunction. With the help of aligners, the dental arch of the upper or lower jaw is expanded and teeth are aligned.

Open bite

With an open bite, there is incomplete closure of the dental arches. There is no contact between the teeth on the frontal or lateral areas, a gap is visible. With such a bite, the load on the teeth and jaw joints is distributed incorrectly, which can lead to various pathologies: tooth abrasion, frequent caries, gum disease, pain, crunching in the jaw joint, etc. An open bite also negatively affects the proportions of the face.

Deep bite

Normally, the upper teeth overlap the lower teeth by about a third. With a deep bite, the lower teeth overlap by 50% or more. Sometimes the lower teeth are almost invisible. Such a bite distorts the proportions of the face and can lead to speech impairment. Accelerated tooth wear may occur due to improper loading of the teeth. Dysfunction of the TMJ, pain, crunching, wear or deformation of the joint may develop due to improper loading of the jaw joints.

Mesial bite

With a correct bite, the upper teeth overlap the lower teeth by about 1/3. With a mesial bite, the opposite happens: the lower teeth overlap the upper ones. This is especially pronounced in the anterior section. In this position, the lower jaw moves forward, and the chin seems unnaturally large. The head tilts back, which negatively affects the architecture of the entire body, leads to curvature of the spine, and protrusion of the pelvis forward.

Straight bite

With a straight bite, the upper and lower incisors meet end to end. Normally, the upper teeth should slightly overlap the lower ones. With a straight bite, there is no such overlap. Although this does not externally bother a person, a straight bite leads to premature abrasion of teeth and a decrease in the bite height. The lower third of the face becomes more massive. Dysfunction of the TMJ develops, crunching, pain in the jaw joints, and tinnitus may appear.

Distal bite

With a distal bite, the lower jaw is too far back in relation to the upper jaw. In this case, the lower lip appears sunken, which negatively affects the aesthetics of the face. A distal bite negatively affects posture, stooping, unnatural protrusion and forward tilt of the head develop. A distal bite also leads to the development of TMJ dysfunction.

Crossbite

In case of crossbite, in one area the upper teeth overlap the lower teeth, and in another area, vice versa, the lower teeth overlap the upper teeth. Such a bite creates significant aesthetic problems and affects the harmony of the face. In addition, improper load on the teeth leads to their wear, frequent caries, and loss of fillings. The jaw joints are overloaded, and TMJ dysfunction develops.

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth, often occur when one or more teeth are missing, or the jaw arch is disproportionately sized. Gaps often appear in children and adolescents when the teeth and jaws are just growing. But in adults, teeth should normally fit tightly together. Gaps between teeth negatively affect the aesthetics of a smile.

Tilt, rotation of teeth, malformation of dental arches

With the help of aligners, we can move teeth to the correct position, change their angle of inclination, and also rotate the tooth around its axis. Thus, correction of any displacement or inclination of teeth is possible. The shape of the dental arches is aligned and the smile becomes aesthetically attractive.

Creating a place for implantation

If one or more teeth are lost and not restored in time, other teeth may partially shift/tilt towards the resulting gap. In this case, there is no longer enough space for implantation. Shortening/lengthening of individual teeth
